[ Cloud Computing ] Who will be the Data Center king? Brick'n Mortar or DataBus drivers

Funny thing about this "Great Recession" is that it will give birth to a lot of innovative ideas. Truth of the day is: If you don't innovate and happen to be at the bottom/mid end, you might die. Rackable (and I heard Verari as well) are in that position. They have the brains but the big boys are growling and hugging other bigger boys. Just like the financial shops, and it really helped, right? Anyways, this news about MobiRack is another move towards sealing and securing that mobile databoxed container. Check it out . They are also planning to lease their boxes.

So while I strongly believe, so did Thomas Bittman (I heard from the MSFT exec I dined with last month) when he was here in Amsterdam at the DC Summit, that big build up may not be the only thing. A lot of smaller players will recreate the laws of the mig-segment ecosystem.

Your thoughts?
