Re: GPU-based Compute Cloud

It was not part of the cloud computing initiative, but Platform
Computing worked with IBM to run Symphony grid middleware on CELL-BEs.

I see Multi-core/GPU based parallel computing framework, e.g.
RapidMind recently grabbing attentions from financial companies that
frequently implement embarrasingly parallel applications. It's
interesting me to compare it against grid/cloud based distributed
computing, e.g. DataSynapse or Platform, in terms of cost-
effectiveness and parallel efficiency.
Anyhow, rather than competition, there are more collaboration between
the two types of groups.
