Re: CloudCamp San Francisco

Hello CloudCampers,

My name is Dave Nielsen. I'm helping Reuven plan and manage
CloudCampSF on June 24th and possibly future camps. I thought I'd
introduce myself and let you know more about the session format we are
considering.

Keeping with the unconference *camp theme, I suggest we use the Open
Space format. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Space_Technology
or http://www.socialtext.net/web2open/index.cgi?the_open_grid). This
format helps keep the sessions interesting for two reasons:

1) Attendees often have more interesting things to say than presenters
and they are encouraged to help guide the conversation in each session
2) It keeps the session organizers honest b/c if you aren't enjoying a
session, you can vote with your feet and go to another session

Of course we can be flexible. So for those who want to pre-submit
session topics, we can find a way to accomodate you too. We are also
considering using one hour for 10 minute demos, but since we only have
4 hours we have to be careful with the schedule.

If you have any feedback, please let us know. And if you have
something interesting to discuss, we hope you come to CloudCamp and
post your topic on the open schedule wall.

Dave
