Generalizing a little, cloud resources can provide three kinds
of benefits:

1. extra capacity, e.g., for handling peak loads;

2. extra capability, e.g., more powerful servers or new services;

3. more cost-effective computing, e.g., for time-of-day based
cost of energy, off-load the work during peak tariff times
to resources located in time-zones with a lower tariff.
