Re: HPDC Cloud Computing Panel Questions & My Answers

To your last point, Stu, I can tell you from experience that sys admins are about to undergo a paradigm change rivaled only by the OO/SOA/Agile revolution of the last 15 years of software development. Developers will tell you that the pain is subsiding, and these technologies are standard practice today (especially OO). However, its been a long slog. I feel for those sys admins out there that are not convinced that servers should be managed any differently than they are today.

Right. Though I do agree with the statement, and view it as a design
challenge for cloud vendors to keep injecting clarity into how cloud
services are exposed and interrelated.

Yup -- though I expect a large amount of politics, inertia and FUD
(all of which may be partially justified) to keep the trend in check
for the next couple of years.
